Obituary for Kathleen Rose Ripley
Kathleen Rose Ripley, age 82, of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2005, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
Kathleen was born on April 21, 1923, in Murphysboro, to Charles Glasser and Fleda (Clough) Glasser.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Gene Norman Malone on August 25, 1947, and she later married Charles E. Ripley on January 22, 1949, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1989.
Mrs. Ripley had worked as a commissary clerk at the former Brown Shoe Company and she was the office supervisor at Nutrition Headquarters until she retired.
Kathleen was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Ripley was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the American Legion Post # 127 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Murphysboro Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one daughter and son in law Judith and Joe Grissom of Murphysboro, two sons and daughter in laws Edward and Billie Ripley of Costa Mesa, CA, and Robert and Kim Ripley of Houston, TX;
eight grandchildren Chris Grissom and his wife Alisha Grissom, Gay Bachmann and her husband Allen Bachmann, Kirk Grissom, Cheryl Uitti and her husband Grant Uitti, Taylor Weiland and her husband Jeremy Weiland, Dustin Ripley, Andrew Ripley and Kailey Ripley; two step grandchildren Katie Vaughn and William Engel;
ten great grandchildren Kristin LaBotte and her husband Joe LaBotte, Samantha Grissom, Alivia Grissom, Jude Grissom, Kelli Bachmann, Kendra Bachmann, Karlee Bachmann, Ben Uitti and Ella Uitti, and Mason Weiland;
one great great granddaughter Madyson Grace LaBotte;
one brother and sister in law Charles and Juanita Glasser of Murphysboro; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
