Betty Kimmel, 66, of DeSoto, Illinois, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin, Illinois.

Betty was born in Valley Park, MIssouri,

She had worked form many years as an operator at the former Tuck Tape, now Intertape Polymer, in Carbondale.

Mrs. Kimmel was a member of the Carbondale Eagles.

Betty married Daniel Kimmel on August 11, 1972, in Jackson County, Illinois, and he survives.

Other survivors include three children Lisa Trexler of DeSoto, Daniel Kimmel of Branson, MO, and Angela Crane of DeSoto;

four grandchildren Ashton Crane, Skylar Crane, Makenna Crane, and Joyce Trexler;

and many brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by one son Steve Kimmel and one granddaughter Megan Trexler.

Gravesite services will be held at 11 A.M. at Zion Cemetery with Pastor Scott Slone officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. Blue West. For more information, please visit
