Carl Ray Pritchett, 71, of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:44 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion, Illinois.
Carl was born on January 9, 1947, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Raymond Woodrow Pritchett and Mildred (Durham) Pritchett.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127 in Murphysboro.
Carl enjoyed woodworking and fishing, and he especially liked going to auctions and yard sales.
Mr. Pritchett had worked for thirty three years at Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro.
Carl is survived by two children Cherie (William, Jr.) Moutria of Huntsville, AL and Steven (Amber) Pritchett of Jacksonville, FL;
three grandchildren Adam, Charlotte, and Emily;
his companion of thirty three years Joyce Yearian of Elkville;
and several nieces and nephews including Roni Sue Sisk, Tina Stewart, and Billie Rae Phillips and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory, where military services will be conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127. Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Home Health Care or Wounded Warriors.
