Catherine "Cathy" P. Zimmer, 90, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Catherine was born on July 4, 1930, to Tamms, Illinois, to Edward Dallas and Blanche (Tanksley) Dallas.

Cathy had worked as a caregiver.

Mrs. Zimmer was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro.

She is survived by two children Jim Zimmer and his wife DeeAnn Zimmer of Murphysboro and Sherry Bois and her husband Robert Bois of Buckeye, AZ;

two grandchildren Garret Bois of Phoenix AZ and Dale Zimmer of Mobile, AL;

two great grandchildren Kole Zimmer and Landon Zimmer both of Mobile, AL;

and one sister Jewell Falkenheim of Columbia, IL.

She was preceded in death by one son Dale Zimmer, one sister June Kilpatrick and her parents.

Gravesite services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, at Alto Pass Cemetery with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. There will be visitation from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Pettett Funeral Home.

Cathy was my mother's caregiver and our friend for many years. When I couldn't reach her to wish her a happy birthday on the 4th or again a few days later, I was concerned. Just pulled her obituary up from South Korea where we are for the summer. She was a wonderful, loving lady and will be missed by many...

Cathy was the care giver for our mother for many years. Brenda and I felt she was a great person and friend . Our mother always had a big smile when Cathy walked into the room !!! Thank you Cathy !!
