Obituary

Della Carol McMannis 72, passed away Saturday August 17, in the early morning hours surrounded by loved ones at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Della was born March 15, 1947, to Bert and Helen (Lefleur) Qualls, in Murphysboro, Illinois.

She married Charles Edward McMannis on January 29, 2003, in Las Vegas Nevada.

Mrs. McMannis was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at V.F.W. Post 7190. She also enjoyed life, reading and people, and loved to garden and go fishing, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Charles Edward McMannis;

five children, Albert Walker, Kevin Wayne Walker of Arkansas, Stacy Bader of Murphysboro, Teresa Darlene Reed of DeSoto, and Jayne Culp of Missouri;

three brothers Bert Eugene Qualls of Texas City, Texas, Steven Qualls of Carbondale, Illinois, and Robert Qualls of Murphysboro, Illinois;

two sisters Darlene Fox of Carbondale, Illinois, and Phyllis Johnson of League, Texas;

twelve grandchildren Jason Culp, Katelyn Walker, Kassidy Walker, Mikayla Pearson, William Crisler, Mary and Dakota Morris, Nicole Crisler, Brandon Reed, Jamie Baize, Elena Myers, Kevin Andrew Walker, and Tara Walker;

nine great grandchildren; one life long friend Mary Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of great friends.

She was preceded in death by one Special grandson Ryan Daniel Reed, her parents, one brother David Qualls, and one sister Betty Joyce Qualls.

Her body will be cremated and memorial services will be held at Elm Street Baptist Church on Saturday August 24 at 11 am with Pastor Charlie Allen officiating. Visitation is from 10 to 11 am Saturday at the church.
