Obituary

Donald John Keipp, 78, died Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois.

Don was born May 18, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Phillip W. and Christine H. (Sommer) Keipp.

He married Nancy L. (Gatzke) Keipp on September 28, 1963.
He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Murphysboro, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge #572, and Sons of the American Legion.
Don was a retired machinist for Ameren CIPS in Grand Tower. He enjoyed spending time with his family and drinking beer with his best buddies.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dave Ciganovich; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith and Diana Keipp, and Kevin Keipp (Shelley Drake), all of Murphysboro; five grandchildren, Bria Ciganovich of Chicago, Arie Ciganovich, Bostyn Keipp, and Kolbie and Spencer Keipp of Murphysboro; five siblings, Phillip (Francie) Keipp, Barbara Clark, Elmer (Fran) Keipp, Christine Ugulano and Mary Jean Spatz; any several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister-in-law, Jackie Meeks and two brother-in-laws, Charlie Meeks and John Spatz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019, at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge or St. Andrews Catholic Church. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
