Obituary for Eleanor "Sally" H. Blaise (Dunn)

Eleanor "Sally" H. Blaise, 95, of Murphysboro, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019, at Manor Court of Carbondale, Illinois.

Eleanor was born on October 14, 1924, in Greenville, Illinois, to Robert Dunn and Elizabeth (Wise) Dunn, and she was raised in Centralia, Illinois.

In nursing school, she joined the Cadet Corp. She was a nurse for over forty years at both St. Andrew and St. Joseph Memorial Hospitals in Murphysboro.

Mrs. Blaise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murphysboro, where she was a member of the Helping Hands Missionary Circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Post # 127 Ladies Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Post # 7190 Ladies Auxiliary.

Sally married Raymond E. Blaise on November 18, 1945, in Centralia, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2009.

She is survived by three sons Michael R. Blaise and his wife Regina "Dawn" Blaise, David E. Blaise and his wife Cathy Blaise, and Dr. Dale W. Blaise (Randee Bastien), all of Murphysboro;

six grandchildren Aaron M. (Courtney) Blaise, Darin E. (Jennifer) Blaise, Melissa A. (Rocky) Campbell, Brian W. (Beth) Blaise, Bradley A. Blaise, and Lindsay N. (Drew) Wells;

twelve great grandchildren Parker, Brady, Isaac, Alexander, Nicholas, George, Bryon, Jackson, Catie, Cora, Ryan, and Evelyn;

and one brother and sister in law Carl and Ann Dunn of Centralia, IL.

She was preceded in death by one grandson Daniel Blaise, one twin sister Ellen Reichman, one brother Robert Dunn, one half sister May Frances Wilson, and her parents.

There will be private gravesite services at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Rev. Shaker Samuel officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Murphysboro, IL. For more information, please visit
