Faye McDaniel, age 90, of Pomona, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at her residence in Pomona, Illinois.
Faye was born on September 12, 1930, in Granite City, Illinois, to William Archie Cochran and Macie Alberta (Jones) Cochran.
She was a Kindergarten and Second Grade Teacher working in every school in the Murphysboro School District.
Mrs. McDaniel was a charter member of the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Murphysboro.
Faye married Fred McDaniel on April 6, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2007.
She is survived by three daughters Molly Jo McDaniel of Pomona, Brenda McDaniel and her husband Thomas C. McDaniel of Pinckneyville, and Cindy Nehring of Murphysboro;
five grandchildren Caleb Nehring, Rachel Nehring, Jessica (Jeremy) Clipperton, Jordan McDaniel and Joseph McDaniel;
two great grandchildren Calvin Clipperton and Liza Clipperton;
one sister Karen Cochran of Granite City, Illinois;
and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister Bernice Mason, two brothers Ernest and Eugene Cochran, one infant brother Michael Cochran, her parents, and one son in law Chuck Nehring.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the Abundant Life Felllowship Church with Rev. James Easton officiating and burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Gideons, and the address of the church is 10240 Hickory Ridge Road, Murphysboro, IL 62966.
