Obituary for Helen Jean Duty (Creekpaum)

Helen Jean Duty, 77, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12:58 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Helen was born on April 11, 1941, in Dowell, Illinois, to August Andrew Creekpaum and Dorothy (Miller) Creekpaum.

She had worked as a certified nurse's aide for thirty years at the Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro, then for other places, and she retired from work at the Pinckneyville Hospital in Pinckneyville, Illinois. She enjoyed working.

Helen is survived by three children Mary (Garry David) Hall, Mike (Beth) Carter, and Richard Carter, all of Murphysboro;

six grandsons and three great grandchildren.

She had two dogs Peanut and Abby, who were her companions and she loved them very much!

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Jessica Lynn Carter Hall, three brothers, two sisters and her parents.

Her body will be cremated as per her wishes and there will be no services.
