Obituary

Jo Griffin, 79, of Carbondale, passed away at 5:06 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Mary Jo was born on December 31, 1940, in Carbondale, Illinois, to John Fite and Mae (Hopkins) Fite.

Jo and her husband owned and operated a vending machine business.

She married Charles Eugene Griffin on March 6, 1962, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death by September 15, 2019.

Jo is survived by three children Jason (Jennifer) Griffin of Carbondale, Penny (Michael) Dismore of St. Petersburg, FL, and Debbie (Stephen) Sisk of Greenville, IL;

and four grandchildren Shawn, Cody, Kelsie, and Joshua.

She was preceded in death by one brother and her parents.

Private services will be held at a later date.

The family would prefer memorials to be made to Murdale Baptist Church of Carbondale, and may be mailed to the funeral home.
