Jonathon Wayne Mason, age 58, of Murphysboro, passed away at his residence at 5:48 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021.
Jonathon was born on October 30, 1962, in Bloomington, Illinois to Raymond Mason and Barbara (Spradling) Mason.
He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Mason had worked as a construction worker.
Jonathon married Kelly Lewis on October 8, 1983, in Murphysboro and she survives.
He is survived by one son Adam Mason and one daughter Corey LeeAnn Mason, both of Murphysboro;
his father Raymond Mason of Murphysboro;
two grandchildren Gabriella Mason and Jonathon Mason both of Murphysboro;
five brothers and one sister: James Mason of DuQuoin, Timothy Mason, Nathan Mason, and Pamela (Mason) Lewis all of Murphysboro, Andrew Mason of Ava, and Benjamin Mason of Royalton;
his father in law Bobby Lewis and mother in law Frances Lewis, both of Murphysboro;
three brother in laws Rev. Richard Lewis, James Lewis and John Lewis;
one sister in law Lisa Neace
many nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
He was preceded in death by one son Corey Mason, one brother Christopher Mason, and his mother.
His gravesite services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, The Mason Property, 179 Snowy Pines Lane, Murphysboro, IL, with Rev. Andy Cunningham and Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be at the Corey Lee Mason Memorial with Military Services conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Monday at The Mason Property. Memorials may be made to the family.
