Obituary for Kathleen "Kathy" R. Nehring

Kathleen "Kathy" R. Nehring, 72, of Carbondale, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019, at her residence with her father by her side in Carbondale.

Kathleen was born on August 13, 1946, in DeKalb, Illinois, to Raymond L. "Bud" Nehring and Faith (Plapp) Nehring.

Miss Nehring was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in Murphysboro.

She was an accomplished organist. She liked to read the Bible and other Christian books.

Kathy is survived by her father, Raymond L. Nehring of Carbondale;

two brothers including her twin brother Kent Nehring and his wife Janice Nehring of Kenton, OK and Doug Nehring and his wife Donna Nehring of Broden County, TX;

her sister in law Cindy Nehring of Murphysboro;

and 3 nieces and 2 nephews Kara and her husband Kenny McMurtrey. Caleb, Rachel, Michael, and Dana.

She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother Chuck Nehring.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Abundant Life Fellowship with Rev. James Easton officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abundant Life Fellowship or the Gideon International.

Interment will be at East Pierce Cemetery, near Hinckley, Illinois, on Monday, April 1, 2019.
