Kendall Jackson Glodo, 73, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.
Kendall was born on March 10, 1946, in Grand Tower, Illinois, to Francis Glodo and Mildred (Latchshaw) Glodo.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.
Mr. Glodo was the former Police Chief of Murphysboro and served twenty five years with the police department in Murphysboro.
He was a member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127 in Murphysboro. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Kendall married Karolyn (Griffith) on February 9, 1966, in Grand Tower, and she survives.
Other survivors include two children Sheri (Greg) Hubbs of Murphysboro and Rodney (Brandi) Glodo of DeSoto;
four grandchildren Bailey (Bryce) Layne, Shelby McKown, Jared (Keeley) Glodo, and Dylan (Lauren) Glodo;
six great grandchildren Loryanna Glodo, Remi Glodo, River Glodo, Connor Wright, Braydan Reams, and Drakelynn Glodo;
and one brother Richard Glodo of CA.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and his parents.
There will be visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Pettett Funeral Home. His body will then be cremated and private gravesite services will be held. For information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
