Obituary for Kyle Wayne Ellis

Kyle Wayne Ellis, age 30, of Vergennes, passed away as a result of a vehicle accident, at 6:30 A.M. Friday, May 17, 2019, at the 41st mile marker of the east bound lane of Interstate 24, near Kuttawa, Kentucky.

Kyle was born on October 26, 1988, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Donald Wayne Ellis and Tammy (Doty) Williams.

He was a fantastic race car driver.

Music was his passion, and he played the piano. He loved playing gospel music. He loved his dog, Lucky.

He is survived by his fiancee Michael Herring,

His father and step mother Donald and Sherry Ellis of Vergennes;

His mother and step father Tammy and Richard Williams of Karnak;

His paternal grandparents Millard and Cheryl Ellis of Vergennes; and maternal grandmother Brenda Doty of Karnak;

one sister Nicki Meadows (Patrick Starling) of DuQuoin:
half brother Trevor Williams of Dongola;
half sister Samantha Williams of Karnak, step sister Morgan Johnson of Elkville,
step brother Zachary Pair of Vergennes;
and other siblings Brina Ellis and Cody Norris, both of Elkville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends. Because as everyone knows, Kyle never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday. June 1, 2019, at the Elkville Christian Church with Rev. Richard Pyatt officiating and burial at Hallidayboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday and from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.

    The Elk's Lodge will be open after 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, in the event that someone would wish to bring food to the Banquet Room, where the funeral dinner will be served after the funeral in Elkville and the commital services at Hallidayboro Cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. I only knew Kyle a short time as we were both General Managers for Durham but the passion and compassion he had was unbelievable. I am thankful that I was able to meet him and call him a friend. Rest in Peace.
