Myrtle Pearl Griffin, age 80, of Murphysboro, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
Myrtle was born on April 8, 1927 in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Clemie Tucker and Inda (Trigg) Tucker.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro.
She married Albert "Al" Griffin on November 6, 1946, in Harrisburg and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2004.
Myrtle is survived by three children Luke Griffin of Murphysboro, Thelma Lou Flora and her husband John Flora of Carterville, IL, and Gary Griffin of Florida;
seven grandchildren Autumn Doan and her husband Ben Doan of DeSoto, John Flora and his wife Crystal Flora of Carterville, Chelisah Griffin of Murphysboro, Garrett Griffin of Percy, who is serving in the 101st Airborne of Fort Campbell Kentucky, Holly Tucker and her husband James Tucker of Percy, Heather Jokerst and her husband Kurt Jokerst of Percy, and Anthony Roach of Carterville;
six great grandchildren Cheyann Flora of Carterville, Ty Doan of DeSoto, Alexis Tucker, Collin Hoebeck, Olivia Jokerst, and Nicholas Jokerst all of Percy;
seven brothers Robert Tucker and his wife Norma Tucker, Charles Tucker and his wife Vera Tucker , Glen Tucker and his wife Virginia Tucker, Ardell Tucker and his wife Jessie Tucker, Ray Tucker and his wife Mary Tucker, Eddie Tucker, and Bud Tucker, all of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by one grandson Albert Ray Ward and her parents.
