Obituary

Stanley Eugene Chandler, 74, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Stanley was born on July 6, 1944, in Union County, Illinois, to Stanley and Elma (Starcher) Chandler.

Mr. Chandler attended New Life Tabernacle and was very active at the church.

He was a machine operator and had retired from Tesa Tape in Carbondale.

He loved to read and putter around in his garage. He loved his grand kids and spending time with them!

Stanley married Bertha Clover on March 23, 1965, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons Timothy Chandler and Chad (Rachel) Chandler, all of Murphysboro;

a daughter in law Brandy Chandler of Murphysboro;

three grandchildren Whitney (Josh) Roman, Haley Chandler and Ellarie Jade Chandler;

two brothers Dennis (Sonia) Chandler of Ullin and Don (Beth) Chandler of Marion, IL;

three sisters Lois (Larry) Burk of TN, Susie (Gene) Adams of Ullin, and Judy Zeschke and her friend Larry Henderson of Olive Branch;

and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son Travis, one grandson Jeffery, his parents in law Glen and Mildred Clover and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at New Life Tabernacle with Rev. Larry Dean Worthen officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the New Life Tabernacle.
