William Jennings Bryan Taylor, Jr., 95, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2019, at the Prairie Living at Chautauqua, Carbondale, Illinois.
William Jennings Bryan was born on January 25, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to William Jennings Bryan Taylor and Anna Amanda (Miller) Taylor.
He served in the Army 1874th Engineer Aviation Battalion Company Corps during World War II.
Mr. Taylor was a banker.
He was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro, Illinois.
Bill loved working at his greenhouse. He also enjoyed his cattle that he had on the farm and he loved to go fishing.
Bill married Betty Johnson on June 2, 1946 in Sikeston, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2018.
He is survived by two sons Kevin Taylor and his wife Kim Taylor and David Taylor, all of Murphysboro;
five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son Allen, one sister, and his parents.
His body will be donated to the St. Louis University School of Medicine. There will be no services.
